Photon Engineering Pty Ltd is an Australian technology company specializing in solid-state lasers and photonic technologies. We offer our customers a wide range of laser and optical products designed for research, engineering, manufacturing and field environments. Photon Engineering's extensive range of next generation laser systems from world leading photonics manufacturers, combined with our technical expertise and commitment to customer service, enables us to tailor a laser device to suit the unique requirements of the most demanding applications.

Photon Engineering is based in Adelaide, South Australia, and we service customers throughout Australia and New Zealand. We have exclusive sales & distribution rights in Australia and New Zealand for many leading international manufacturers including JDS Uniphase, Northrop Grumman / CEO Lasers, Arasor and AOC Technologies. With a strong focus on science, defence and industrial customers we have been awarded "preferred supplier status" from the Australian Defence Industry.

Photon Engineering also has a strong focus on developing custom laser systems for unique applications. We can custom design, prototype and manufacture a wide variety of technologies including Diode-pumped lasers, Diode Laser Systems, Optical Telecom Systems, Industrial Laser Systems and Optical test & measurement systems.

Critical to this goal we partner with proven industry leaders that can manufacture quality laser products in either small or large volumes. We also aim to provide valuable technical advice and customization services with an experienced design and engineering team. With over 11 years of industry experience in designing, building, selling and servicing solid-state lasers we add significant value in terms of technical expertise and a total commitment to customer service.

Our History
Photon Engineering was founded in 1994 by Dr. Adam Weigold as a photonics systems integrator and custom laser provider to Australian science and industry. The company has grown from humble beginnings to become the leading supplier of solid-state laser technology in Australia with a repuation for strong technical expertise and value for money products. We have long term customers in every state in Australia as well as New Zealand, Singapore and India. The company has been recognised for its excellence in quality and service by academic institutions and the Australian defence industry.

In 1999, to capitalise on the unique technologies developed at Photon Engineering, Fiberbyte Pty Ltd was spun out as a dedicated research and manufacturing business focused on photonic networks and test equipment. Over the next few years Fiberbyte developed a unique USB platform and several next generation photonic technologies for optical networking. In 2002 Fiberbyte was sold to Silex Systems (ASX:SLX).

In August 2004 the original business was restructured and streamlined with the aim of improving the product range, consolidating sales channels and expanding custom design and system integration capabilities. In November 2004 Photon Engineering secured the Australian and NZ distribution rights for JDS Uniphase commercial lasers - the worlds largest manufacturer of photonic components and systems. JDS Uniphase products ideally compliment our existing range of solid-state laser & photonics products - and JDSU will be a key business development partner for Photon Engineering in the future.
